Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Planning and Analysis will be responsible for a variety of FP&A duties surrounding the planning, analysis and reporting functions. This includes the annual budget process, periodic reforecasts, variance analysis from actuals to budget/forecasts, financial modeling, metrics data consolidation and reporting, and special projects.

Responsibilities

Assist with the facilitation of forecasting and budgeting across all operational departments and maintenance of detailed financial models, including uploads to and reporting out of COGNOS

  • Cross-territory consolidation of all forecasts and budgets
  • Preparation of financial and business related analyses and research in such areas as revenue and expense performance, sales and customer reporting, and other operating performance metrics
  • Review and analysis of P&L’s with operating management personnel
  • Consolidation and reporting of business metrics data and KPIs
  • Work alongside Accounting personnel during month end close to ensure timely, accurate and meaningful financial results
  • Assist with preparation of presentations for senior management, investor, Board of Directors and banking needs
  • Establish good working relationships with operational leadership, divisional accounting and corporate finance teams
  • Perform special projects and prepare ad-hoc operational and financial analyses as required by management

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, experience, and skill-sets:

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or equivalent required; MBA preferred but not required
  • Minimum 3-5 years of FP&A experience
  • Good decision making and problem solving skills, with the ability to be innovative and creative in resolving issues and improving processes
  • SAP accounting software experience and familiarity
  • COGNOS reporting software experience and familiarity
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required; experience with database and web applications preferred
  • Proficient in all standard PC applications, specifically intermediate to advanced experience with Excel, including mastery using pivot tables, functions, formulas and graphs
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills, with demonstrated ability to interact effectively with different personality styles and build relationships; confidence in communication style, able to effectively interact with various levels of operations and third parties
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and plan well in order to meet deadlines
  • Can work independently acting as primary owner of individual projects, analysis and process while also working cross-functionally outside immediate work group and as part of a team
  • Comfortable working in a demanding fast-paced environment, taking on new tasks with high levels of difficulty
