Overview

Vubiquity is seeking a team leader who will take on every aspect of development from personal hands-on engagement to leading and expanding a team working on one of our primary video processing and distribution products. 

Responsibilities

The candidate will be responsible for the architecture, design, build strategies and execution of all software activities on the product.  The candidate is expected to closely work with and provide input to the product and the solution architecture organizations to transform business requirements into actionable backlogs for the team.  In this senior role the candidate is expected to oversee all aspects of the software development cycle from grooming the requirements to directly contributing to the code base if necessary.  The product is exciting, the environment is fast paced and full of challenges.  Do you have what it takes? 

Qualifications

What it takes:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience).
  • 10+ years of software development experience with 3+ years of leading software teams.
  • Organizational and leadership skills
  • Experience leading and building both local and off-shore teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in the following technologies:
    • Java and Spring Boot
    • Orchestration engines (Aspera Orchestrator, BPM, etc.)
    • Apache Stack: Kafka, ActiveMQ, Camel.
    • Databases: MySQL, PostrgreSQL, MongoDB.
    • Working knowledge of various video codecs and video packaging formats: HEVC, H.264/5, IMF Packaging, J2K, 4K SDR/HDR.
  • Experience with video workflows, digital video supply chain, and both file and streaming video distribution/delivery
  • Comfortable working in both Windows and Linux OS.
  • Experience working with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure)
