Overview

The Director, Product Management will be responsible for managing internal platforms used to delivery Vubiquity managed services, next-generation VOD and the Linear Services business lines.  This role will work across functional boundaries, enhancing Vubiquity’s Product Management processes, accelerating our time to market in the development and delivery of new services to our customers.

Responsibilities

Major Activities to ensure achievement of key results and deliverables:

  • Interface with key external stakeholders including: customers, vendors, domestic and international standards organizations to elicit and set market and product requirements and to define roadmaps for Vubiquity offerings
  • Interface with key internal stakeholders including: Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Operations, Project Support Staff and Finance to define, communicate and negotiate optimal implementation approach
  • Develop near and long-term assessments as to target market potential, based on Market Research and partnership with Sales Staff to qualify and quantify potential sales funnels
  • Evaluate Market Opportunities and lead the development of Business Case analysis and Financial Modeling to ascertain the viability of potential target markets
  • Document and maintain a Product/Service Roadmap for responsible areas that includes key features and functionality grouped into desired releases; maintain the prioritization of development/implementation of these features
  • Perform and oversee research activities, including market analysis and competitive analysis
  • Drive the creation of product requirements (epics, stories) and work with our development teams to deliver these features to market
  • Facilitate the prioritization of requirements across competing priorities and service lines, in partnership with Product Line Managers and other key stakeholders
  • Lead the development of pricing and positioning of new/existing product offerings
  • Partnering with other members of the Product Management Team, and other stakeholders, in establishing Roadmaps, Forecasts, Budgets and KPI’s
  • Participate with the sales organization in client visits, on and off-site, to understand market requirements – develop “peer” level relationships with key customers and vendors
  • Contribute to the development of annual and quarterly financial plans
  • Partner with marketing to develop product collateral such as technical white papers, presentations, sales tools, and competitive analysis and other marketing programs
  • Create and deliver sales training for the sales force, sales engineering, channels and support teams
  • Regularly monitor the performance and trends of the market, customers and our products to refine go-to-market approach

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ of experience in marketing, product management or product development in a fast paced software/managed services environment
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Experience developing and deploying IP based SaaS infrastructure solutions
  • Digital Media, Content or other related experience strongly desired
  • Direct experience at a Multichannel Service Provider or in the vendor ecosystem supporting these providers highly desired
  • Strategic thinker, analytical orientation with hands-on “get it done” attitude
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly reliable, responsible, and accountable for group and individual goals
  • High degree of technical expertise and business acumen
  • Highly self-motivated, proactive and self-sufficient
  • Junior/Senior-level Experience in Product Management, Product Marketing  and/or General Management roles
  • Industry experience and relationships in the Cable, Telco or Media (VOD/Linear) verticals
  • Direct work experience at Multichannel Service Provider (MSO, IPTV, Satellite provider) and/or for a vendor who sells into this market
  • Success assisting/managing projects/programs through effective communication, collaboration, shared goals, and trust
  • Track record of managing projects/programs of real or virtual teams while providing oversight of geographically dispersed projects/programs is essential
  • Demonstrated strengths in communications, risk management, conflict resolution skills working in a team environment and mentoring team members
  • Willing to travel approximately 5-10%.
