  • Overview

    The Techinical Program Manager oversees one or more technology programs within an overall strategic portfolio by planning, organizing, and controlling program activities. It is the job of the program manager to create and manage program status within an integrated portfolio dashboard. Additionally, the program manager will ensure that operational readiness plans prior to deployment to Internal and External Customers. The Program Manager will interact regularly with the Program Sponsors, Steering committees, Operations and Software Development Team Members.

    Responsibilities

    The Program Manager will perform a wide range of Program management and Business Analyst  duties in the following areas:

    Plan

    • Plan the delivery of the overall project, or set of projects, and the related activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of the program
    • Coordinate and facilitate technology team communication throughout the duration of the program to ensure the technology solution aligns with the business case
    • Manage the project plan, including tasks, activities, risks, issues, and action items
    • Provide weekly and ad hoc reporting on the project status as it relates to the overall program
    • Facilitate the analysis, acquisition, and validation of the procurement of goods and services on behalf of the project
    • Manage the project budgets and spending, alerting the team to any trends that require attention

    Organize

    • Ensure that project activities operate within the policies and procedures of the program
    • Ensure that project activities comply with all relevant legislative and professional standards
    • Manage the creation of forms and records to document project activities in line with program expectations
    • Insure that correct policies and procedure are in place to manage tracking and execution and administration of third-party statements of work 

    Control

    • Communicate regularly with the program stakeholders
    • Track major milestones, dependencies, and deliverables – with agreed upon phase-gating Entry/Exit criteria
    • Identify and evaluate the risks associated with project activities and take appropriate action to control the risks

    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

    • BS/BA required. CS/MIS/IT degree required. Advanced degrees a plus.
    • Five + years’ experience in large-scale Business Analysis/Product Management/Systems Engineering required
    • Knowledge of Video Encoding required, Mobile Technologies, Cloud Platform is a plus
    • Ability to create structure in an ambiguous, rapidly growing, and changing team environment.
    • Experience delivering complex technology solutions that span multiple teams on time and within budget
    • Knowledge of software development practices, such as Agile Scrum
    • Knowledge and experience with key technology domains (cloud-based infrastructure and networking, enterprise service bus, hierarchical storage management, enterprise application development) required
    • Experience with one or more of the following is a plus: digital media services, content supply chain, digital workflows, and video encoding/delivery
    • Knowledge of project and program management best practices, tools, and skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels of management.
    • Strong results orientation with demonstrated track record of success.
    • Ability to excel in dynamic, fast-paced environment.

    • MS Project
    • MS Office
    • Confluence
    • JIRA
