  • Overview

    The Sr. Product Management, VOD Services will be responsible for managing portions of our VOD Services Business Line, leading initiatives to rearchitect core platform components, and enhance/develop new services in VOD Distribution and OTT Servicing.  This role, reporting to the Vice President of Product Management, and will collaborate with cross-functional teams and work directly with Engineering and Operations to manage team backlogs and recommend process improvements.


    • Support the Product Strategy and Product Planning activities
    • Perform and oversee research activities, including market analysis and competitive analysis
    • Lead the development of Market Requirements Documentation and Service Level User Stories for receipt by our Agile Development Teams and cross-functional delivery organization, consisting of Content Processing, Network Operations, Content Licensing and Programming
    • Facilitate the prioritization of requirements across competing priorities across the product lines, in partnership with Product Line Managers and other key stakeholders
    • Work alongside the engineering team to set development priorities, define and implement a product roadmap, contribute to testing, and manage products through initial launch and subsequent releases
    • Partnering with other members of the Product Management Team, and other stakeholders, in establishing Roadmaps, Forecasts, Budgets and KPI’s
    • Contribute to the development of annual and quarterly financial plans
    • Partner with marketing to develop product collateral such as technical white papers, presentations, sales tools, and competitive analysis and other marketing programs
    • Attends story grooming sessions, sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews and sprint retrospectives in order to rapidly answer any questions the team may have on requirements
    • Communicating customer requirements in the form of stories, acceptance criteria and non-functional requirements, and collaborating closely with the team on an ongoing basis to provide guidance and direction
    • Ensures that the implementation is focused on deliverables that bring the highest business value and represents the voice of the customer.
    • Create and deliver sales training for the direct sales force, channels and support teams
    • Decompose product features and improvements into stories and formulate detailed and comprehensive release plans
    • Regularly monitor the performance and trends of the market, customers and our products to refine go-to-market approach 
    • Create workflow diagrams and design user interfaces



    • 4+ years’ of experience in product management or product development in a fast paced software/managed services environment
    • Bachelor's Degree required
    • Master’s Degree desired but not required
    • Experience developing/managing services/products that serve domestic and international marketplaces
    • Experience developing and deploying IP based SaaS infrastructure solutions
    • Digital Media, Content Services, Digital Distribution or other related experience strongly desired
    • Direct work experience at a content provider, such as a major network or studio, and/or for a vendor who sells into this market
    • Industry experience and relationships in the Cable, Telco or Media verticals
    • Senior management experience in Product Management and/or Product Marketing
    • Working knowledge of Video On Demand (VOD) technologies, ecosystem and business models
    • Strategic thinker, analytical orientation with hands-on “get it done” attitude
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Highly reliable, responsible, and accountable for group and individual goals
    • High degree of technical expertise and business acumen
    • Highly self-motivated, proactive and self-sufficient
    • Demonstrated strengths in communications, risk management, conflict resolution skills working in a team environment and mentoring team members
    • Awareness of the core systems used to perform VOD services (i.e. DAM, Transcoders, Order Systems)
    • Willing to travel approximately 5%
